Here’s a fun flash game that I hope you will enjoy as you continue procrastinating. :D

Whilst I was procrastinating on the Internet, I discovered a flash game called Spent, created by the Urban Ministries of Durham. In the game, you play an American who is currently trying to survive the economic downturn, so you have to make numerous decisions over 30 days and hope that you still have money left at the end to pay for next month’s expenses and rent. You’re down to your last $1,000 and forced to rent an apartment because your house is gone.

You can play the game here.

In nearly every decision you make, you find a balance between the moral decision and the financially sensible decision which can be quite difficult if both outcomes aren’t really desirable.

Comment with what you did and what decisions you chose! The highest score I’ve gotten is $1538, but that’s because I chose only the options that would be the most financially frugal. When I played the game with decisions I would actually make, I barely managed to break even.
